Balance Me Rose Otto Body Oil Review

Hello Lovelies!

Recently Balance Me sent me a gorgeous collection of some of their products. One of which was the Rose Otto Body Oil.

Balance Me uses innovative naturally active botanicals, hi-tech natural formulations and pure grade essential oils powerful botanicals to deliver a skincare range that offers the customer sophisticated textures and aromatherapy-inspired exquisite active aromas that can be used daily across all skin types. This allows me as someone with sensitive skin, to use their natural products care-free.

Retailing at £24.50, I think you definitely get your money's worth with this product. Reviewed highly by the Debehams Beauty Club, it doesn't disappoint.
The natural soothing qualities of rose will fortify skin. Other ingredients including Abyssinian seed and calming and balancing oat and meadow foam oils gave my skin a flawless finish.
I think I should point out just how beautiful this product smells. Oils can often be musky and overpowering; but the floral scents of the rose are subtle yet potent - perfect for sensitive skin (and nose!).

The only downside I could find to this body oil was that it took longer than I would like to sink in. Although it doesn't leave a greasy finish like many can do, the lengthy wait can be uncomfortable if you aren't one to wait around or are in a rush.

I will definitely be continuing to use this and possibly even purchase when my bottle runs out. If you would like to check out the Rose Otto Body Oil, click HERE. Or if you'd like to know more about Balance Me and their other products, click HERE.

If you've tried this or any other products from Balance Me, comment below with your thoughts! I hope you all have a lovely week!

Cake Sale & Oxford University

Hello Lovelies!

I'm back! So sorry its been so long. I've had so much on with work and personal life, I really just haven't had the time. I thought before we go back to the usual stuff, we could have a catch up.

Firstly as part of my dedicating fundraising, I held a Cake Sale at the Community Day where I live. It was a huge success and raised well over a hundred pounds! Selling all homemade cakes, we were sold out! The mayor enjoyed a tea and cake with me and I even spoke on the radio about my efforts and fundraising (definitely glad it wasn't tv!). With it also having music events throughout the day, I sang with my chummy Michael. He played guitar and I was on the uke - my tiny hands cant handle much bigger!

 Getting the stall ready.

A few weeks ago I also visited Oxford University. It was so lovely going back! I remember the town just the same and the Pembroke never fails to amaze. A beautiful day, me and Danielle browsed through the main town and may have hyperventilated too much over the Cath Kidston Shop. Being in the biggest library in Europe was also a plus - nerd.

 Pembroke is beautiful.

Thought you might enjoy seeing these few snaps. More of the usual soon.

Jamie Shovlin: Hiker Meat Exhibition @ CORNERHOUSE

Hello Lovelies!

Recently, on a day trip to Manchester a little while back with my best chummy Danielle, I went to see an exhibition at the Cornerhouse on Oxford Road.

Jamie Shovlin; Hiker Meat
An exploitation film that never actually existed is at the heart of our exhibition by Jamie Shovlin. Hiker Meat and its fictitious Italian director Jesus Rinzoli have been imagined by Shovlin to represent an archetypal exploitation film – a type of film making characterised by its low budget aesthetic and exploitation of sensational subject matter, which boomed from the late 1960s to the early 1980s.

Set in an American summer camp in the 1970s, Hiker Meat includes a full complement of slasher film standards, from a hitchhiking heroine with a troubled past to a charismatic commune leader and a group of teens who disappear one by one.

As I walked round the exhibition, there was an cold atmosphere, reflecting the feel of the work shown. A gallery full of props and memorabilia will set the scene, and the tone. "Thirty kids made it to Jamestown," shrieks the lurid poster, "how many will make it back?".

This was not my usual type of exhibition. However I found it rather exhilarating.  I enjoyed the interactive moments listening to the audio or watching the visual clips.

Sorry for the bad quality photos. I forgot my camera so they are from my iPhone. Also I wish I had taken more as there were some brilliant pieces on the other floors.

Let me know if you saw this exhibition. If so, what did you think of it?

All My Love
Sophie
